Spring Forum 2019

The NAWIC Boston Chapter was in strong attendance at the Northeast Region Spring Form last weekend in Philadelphia, PA! The Northeast Region is made up of Chapters from New England, New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, & DC.

For those that arrived early on Thursday, they got a tour of the Penn Museum jobsite followed by happy hour at Zavino’s. Friday also began with another excursion, a mural arts trolley tour throughout Philly prior to conference check in.

Forum convened early Friday afternoon and included seminars and speakers such as ‘Communicate with Charisma, Clarity & Compassion,’ and ‘Wellness Works.’ Friday night included an Awards Gala & Dinner at Vue on 50 which overlooked the beautifully lit city of Philly. Several Chapters and members were recognized for their hard work and dedication all while raffling off prizes to support NEF (NAWIC Education Fund).

Saturday started off with a Presidents & Committee Chairs meeting as well as updates on the final registration report, Northeast Region fun report, and NAWIC Founders Scholarship Fund. Additional seminars and speakers included ‘How Your BATing Average Controls Your Success in Life,’ ‘Laboring Over Regulations,’ and ‘Reputation Capital.’ The afternoon entailed a panel discussion on ‘Breaking the Glass Ceiling in Construction,’ which included Catherine Schoenenberger (NAWIC National Past President) as the moderator to a panel of amazingly reputable and talented women within the construction industry. Diane Mike (NAWIC National President-Elect) and Jennifer Sproul (Director of the Northeast Region) spoke on the National strategic plan report as well as mid-year board summary actions, election of fund trustee, and new Chapter & excellence awards. Attendees were invited to both the National Conference in August in Atlanta, GA and Fall Conference in November in Groton, MA.
