New2NAWIC: Spotlight on Sara Petrie!

The NAWIC Boston Chapter welcomes Sara Petrie! Sara is the Director of Business Strategies for MFA- Moody, Familgietti & Andronico where she consults on behalf of MFA’s construction and real estate practice. She helps business owners and entrepreneurs with their specific business/financial objectives and partners to grow/scale their business. Impartial to technical service offerings, Sara makes sure the firm’s clients are connected with the appropriate advisors they need to ultimately increase capital and minimize exposure. When asked what the favorite part of her job is, Sara said, “becoming friends with my clients. I find it extremely rewarding to help them solve business problem or save them money.”

No stranger to construction, before heading off to SUNY Plattsburgh for college, Sara grew up in a family construction business, Petrie Construction. Her father is a self-employed general contractor/builder, and her brother is an electrician. Immediately after college, Sara worked as an Account Manager for Insight Global & Signature Consultants, then transitioned into her current role at MFA- Moody, Famiglietti & Andronico.

When Sara is not helping clients, she enjoys travel (her favorite places are Vail, CO and Aruba), skiing, trying new restaurants and taking day trips anywhere in New England. And a few more tidbits… her favorite author is Charles Duhigg, her favorite movie is “Catch Me if You Can,” the people she most admires are her parents and her life motto is “always do what you want, say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.”

Finally, when asked why she joined NAWIC, Sara responded, “I absolutely loved the women I met when I went to dinner with the Worcester Chapter. I was extremely inspired by the people and an opportunity to be part of something that can help other women grow themselves professionally and personally.”
