WIC Week Giveaway | March 5-11, 2017

February 27, 2017

Get ready for Women in Construction (WIC) Week!   WIC Week occurs one week every year, highlighting women as a visible component in the construction industry.  For NAWIC, WIC Week is an occasion for the thousands of members to raise awareness of the opportunities available for women in construction and to emphasize the growing role of women in the industry.

As the local Boston chapter, we enjoy giving back to our community.  For 2017’s WIC Week, that takes place from March 5th -11th, we will be hosting a few events that we hope you will attend with us.  Schedule of events* in images below.

In addition to these events, on Monday, March 6, Shawmut Design and Construction will be hosting a WIC Week kick-off breakfast at their Boston Headquarters located at 560 Harrison Ave Boston, MA 02118.  The breakfast and networking will take place between 7:30-9:30am.  The event and parking are free; however, this event is a member’s only.  Please RSVP by March 1 to Melissa Sue Guertin at MGuertin@Shawmut.com.

For the past couple of years, WIC Week has given me an opportunity to slow down in my busy life and remind myself that being a woman in construction is something to be proud of.  Our numbers continue to rise, as more and more women join this industry every day.  That in itself is a reason to smile next week, but in case you need a little more to smile keep reading!

To kick-off the celebration of the strong women in construction (yes that includes you!), we are hosting a giveaway of a WIC Week 2017 hardhat sticker, NAWIC coffee mug, and $10 gift card to Dunkin Donuts to a lucky participant.  In order to participate leave a comment below and let us know what you’re looking forward to most during this year’s WIC Week!!

I hope, even if it’s brief, that you take a moment next week to be proud of yourself too.  From all of us at NAWIC Boston, thank you for helping shape this industry into what it is today.

*Prices to attend events vary.  See our "Events" page for more details.
